Kiln

A maker’s portfolio where each piece has dimensions, materials and a date, because that is what buyers ask.

== Description ==

Photographs of pottery all look the same size. Kiln puts dimensions, materials, firing and date in a small structured block beside the first image, because those four facts are the entire difference between two photographs of a bowl.

Pieces group into series, and a series has its own page with a statement. Makers work in series; portfolio themes almost never model that and it shows.

WooCommerce is optional and additive. A piece with no product attached shows an enquiry link instead of a price, and the layout is identical either way.

== Screenshots ==

Numbered the way they ship in /assets/. Click any one to see it full width.

== Installation ==

  • Install and activate the theme.
  • Create pieces and fill in the detail fields.
  • Group them into a series, if you work that way.

WooCommerce is not required. Every commerce feature checks for it and degrades to an enquiry link.

== Frequently asked questions ==

Does it need WooCommerce?

No. Without it, the theme is a portfolio with enquiry links and nothing is missing.

Can I show sold pieces?

Yes, marked sold and kept in the archive. A portfolio that only shows current stock is not a portfolio.

== Changelog ==

= 1.6.0 =

  • Series pages with a statement block.
  • Sold pieces stay in the archive with a marker instead of being hidden.

= 1.4.2 =

  • Fixed: dimension fields were formatted with the site locale but stored with the browser’s, producing decimal comma errors.
