Public sector sites are legally required to be accessible and are routinely audited. Parapet ships with every WCAG 2.2 AA criterion documented against the component that satisfies it, so the audit is a review rather than an investigation.

Includes an accessibility statement template with the sections the regulations require, and the parts you must fill in marked rather than pre-filled with a claim you have not verified.

Plain layouts, generous targets, no motion by default, and a text-size control that persists — because the audience includes people who set their browser to 200% and are used to that breaking things.

• Install and activate the theme.
• Create your accessibility statement from the bundled pattern and complete the marked sections.
• Run the conformance checklist in the readme against your content.

The theme can conform. Your content still has to: alt text, heading order and link text are yours.

Does this make my site compliant?

No theme can. It removes the theme as a source of failures and documents what it does, which is the part you cannot do yourself.

WCAG 2.2 or 2.1?

2.2 AA, which includes 2.1. The new criteria — focus appearance, dragging alternatives, consistent help — are all addressed.
