Ulster

A local news theme designed for one editor and a Tuesday deadline.

== Description ==

Most news themes assume a newsroom. Ulster assumes one person who also sells the advertising: the front page fills itself from sections, and it looks deliberate whether this week produced four stories or forty.

Corrections are a first-class thing — appended to the story, dated, and listed on a corrections page — because a local paper’s credibility is the entire product and a silently edited story spends it.

The obituary and public-notice layouts exist because those pages pay for local journalism and every other theme makes you build them from a blog post.

Numbered the way they ship in /assets/. Click any one to see it full width.

== Installation ==

  • Install and activate the theme.
  • Create your sections as categories and assign them to front-page slots.
  • Use the Correction block when you need one.

Front-page slots degrade: an empty section collapses rather than showing a heading with nothing under it.

== Frequently asked questions ==

Does it support a paywall?

It styles the common metered paywall plugins. It does not implement one.

Print edition?

A print stylesheet for individual stories. Producing a paginated edition is a different product.

= 2.6.0 =
